In Praise of MOM (Word to your Mother)

May 13, 2008

Happy Mothers DayI for one hate all the made up BS holidays.

You know Boss’s day administrative assistant’s day ground hog day arbor day Columbus day Boxing day(that ones Canadian I think). Well you get the idea.

I have read and heard many people talk about their being all of these new Hallmark holidays(alleging that the greeting card companies had something to do with their creation) oh yeah Valentines Day that one too.

Well I do not put Mother’s Day in that category. Anybody who has been in the maternity ward for any period of time and got to witness (both see and hear) mothers and their babies screaming their way into this world certainly can’t help but have unconditional respect for the women, the mothers.

Now as traumatic as the birth process is the most difficult things, the hard part of being a mother is everything that comes after. From breast feeding changing diapers and taking care of these defenseless little people to strapping them in car seats lugging baby bags around feeding ,cleanups, throw-ups and raising little people into grown-ups with a mothers unconditional love.

The vast majority of mothers spend their lifetimes dedicating themselves to supporting their children(sometimes their children’s children as well) oh yeah forgot Grandparents Day didn’t I? I think it is pretty much universally recognized that mothers are the back bone of society.

They bring the new lives into this world, nurture support and raise the next generation(albeit with much more support from the men these days dirty diapers included)

What thanks do they get? Well they get mother’s Day. Flowers, brunches, family get together’s, phone calls, cards, home made gifts, and pictures from the little ones and maybe even breakfast in bed.

So if all goes well the attention the love the thoughts of gratitude that Mothers deserve is hopefully theirs. What about WORD FOR YOUR MOTHER? Well I do try to amuse myself and figured the Moms out there deserved some props.

For those of you who are married to the Moms of this world don’t forget that the Moms still crave that sweet love that sexual healing (as the song says) they may be Moms but those Moms still want, need, crave, and desire to be treated as sexual beings so don’t make that fatal mistake(fatal to the relationship) and find yourself treating your wife the Mother of your children as if they were your Mother.

The best thing you can do for your wife your kids mother is to treat them like the woman you fell in love with and the best gift for your wife would be to re-ignite those passions by joining OUR DATE NIGHT that’s right WORD TO YOUR WIFE TOO

Best regards,
Husband of Gina Gray
